We were in class 9 i guess..!!
Back i n school..going for tuitions and other places to hang out.. the booming thing that would be back then was the BANGLA BAND thing that was catching up.. Bhoomi and Cactus had to be our favorites back then.. :).. some of them still are no doubt..
We often had discussions and meetings which had started by then about finding out the hidden musicians in ourselves.. asking each other how confident we were to play a particular instrument or even sing out loud..!! Oho it was all too funny..childish and really immature..!! But seemed to be some great and promising idea back then..
Cant really blame our ages fr that.. right?! Any ways..it kept rolling..our carriage of dreams and aspirations.. Coming to the challenges faced by us.. Umm..there were lot of them.. Family..School..Discouraging Peers.. yeah.. "Eshob korey ki hobe".."somoy noshto".. and what not shit.. times did come when it kind of turned out to be an embarrassment for us..(kids)!!
We did put it up together..us friends..a BAND.. Wow..now that was something..having a full fledged line up of budding and aspiring musicians to play their hearts out.. :D!! we did start jamming and playing together.. unaware of the countless challenges that lay in-front of us..!!
Shall fast forward a bit..to our first stage show..!! Lot of begging and persuading gifted us our first one.. :)...it ws of immense joy..a month of rehearsals and preparations and what not shitty promotion..!! haha.. We got Rs.350/- for that show i still remember.. hah.. 70bucks to each lad..!!
The journey continues.. Acheivements and accolades.. Defeats and losses.. allhave ben thus a part of this endeavour..!! :)..
it does satisfy and reassure us of the work we did..and reminds of the forward journey..!!
The band is now called KRISHTI..
